With Armory and Spinnaker, devs are empowered to deploy code with safety, resilience, and velocity to any cloud or on prem production target.
This is the basic course which is focused on the pragmatic learning of Spinnaker. Spinnaker is an open-source and free software platform which provides continuous development and it is originally developed by Netflix and then extended by Google. It is designed to work with Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud. In this course we would cover the basics of spinnaker such as architecture, pipelines, stages, traiggers, and many more. With the pragmatics hands-on exercises this course is best fit for any person who wants to master the DevOps field.
This course covers the advanced concepts related to the Spinnaker such as Deployment Management, Scaling, Dinghy, Terraform Integration, Policy Engine, RBAC Concepts, Canary and many more. It is recommended to follow our previous two courses: Spinnaker – Basics and Spinnaker with Kubernetes, for a better understanding of this course. This course not only provides you the mastery in Spinnaker but also makes you equipped enough with the practical knowledge of actual production usage of Spinnaker. It is best for software engineering leads and others that will serve as Armory Spinnaker experts to organizations.
The program is aligned for providing the pragmatic learning of Spinnaker with Admin skills. Spinnaker is an open-source and free software continuous development platform. The design of Spinnaker is in a way that it can work with Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud. This course would cover the admin basics such as necessary configurations, security of system, application deployments, and many more. The participants would also be taught the CI/CD concepts and how to incorporate it in Spinnaker. With the pragmatics hands-on exercises this course covers all the executive concepts and makes your executive base set for Spinnaker. This course is geared toward those engineers that will be installing, managing, and monitoring Armory software. It is not intended for end-users of Armory software, such as software developers or others who will not be supporting Spinnaker directly.
Spinnaker is a continuous delivery tool that helps you be intentional about how you ship software by granting visibility & control into your software delivery process. Specifically, Spinnaker is an open source, multicloud, continuous delivery platform. Let’s break that down.
Although originally a project created at Netflix to dramatically accelerate their software delivery, Spinnaker now lives as an open source project that is part of the CD Foundation, a branch of the Linux Foundation. There’s a vibrant and active community with thousands of members that span industries. Major contributors include Netflix, Google, Armory, Amazon, Microsoft, and others. The source code, issues, and documentation are available to anyone on GitHub.
Continuous Delivery is the process of building software that can be put into production on a consistent, understood, and frequent basis. Previously, gluing together scripts to try to deliver software was good enough. Your deployment velocity was very slow and sometimes the whole process would fall over on itself, but it mostly worked most of the time. Spinnaker realizes the vision and promise of continuous delivery by providing a purpose-built tool that allows you to reliably deliver software, to any target, as frequently as you want. Review our Continuous Delivery 101 guide to learn more.
With its rich ecosystem of integrations, you can automate your code going from commit to production. Once in production, monitor applications. Scale up, scale down, roll back, or roll forward; all these actions can be viewed in Spinnaker and automated.
Connect your CI system. Connect your monitoring tools. Connect what you need to deliver software.
